We Purchased this for my elderly Pomeranian, in the Midwest we have horribly hot summers, I would rate this a very good 3 star product, the dog likes it, and it does stay cool for about 5 days, but the only thing i did not like was after you soak it in water it takes at least 24 hours to dry, I hated waiting, that long, but finally when it was dry, The dog loved it, it keeps her cool, we purchased the medium, and its kinda small, and my pom is a 4 pounder, so just FYI, the medium is a better size for small dogs, I would assume the small would be too small for a dog to really lounge on... Good product and I would recommend it.
