NOTES
Ironclad Warms Up To Heat-Resistance
With New Heatworx™ Gloves
High Dexterity Heat Gloves Combine
Protection and Performance
LOS
ANGELES (November 12, 2005) -
Traditional heat gloves are known
for protecting hands from high heat
and flammable materials. But they're
also known for what they can't do --
provide touch and feel that allows
the user to perform hands-on tasks.
But Ironclad Performance Wear, the
leader in high-performance gloves
and apparel, is revolutionizing the
heat glove market with the
introduction of Ironclad Heatworx
gloves, an innovative line of
high-dexterity heat and
abrasion-resistant gloves. These
gloves incorporate Ironclad's
proprietary HotShield synthetic
palm and Dupont
Kevlar® fabrics. HotShield has the look, feel and
durability of leather, yet is heat
and shrink resistant, water and oil
repellent, and cut, puncture and
abrasion resistant.
According to the American Burn
Association, there are more than one
million burn injuries per year and
4,500 deaths from fire and burn
injuries.
"There is tremendous need in the
marketplace for heat resistant
gloves, but the old-fashioned design
and materials meant that while users
where protected from the heat, they
had limited motion and dexterity,
which impacted the way they were
able to do their jobs," said Ed
Jaeger, president and CEO of
Ironclad Performance Wear. "We've
been able to apply our proprietary
technology and material science to
this problem, and the solution is
the Heatworx glove. Our testing
found that construction and
industrial workers preferred these
gloves to the old-fashioned kind by
an overwhelming margin."
The Heatworx line debuts with three
glove styles with varying levels of
heat, flame and cut resistance. The
line will be sold through Ironclad's
retailers and commercial
distribution channels. Target users
include welders, steel workers,
industrial and manufacturing
workers, automotive workers and
metal fabricators.
Ironclad Performance Wear, which
created the performance work glove
category in 1998, continues to lead
the construction and industrial
markets in innovation, technology,
design, advanced material science
and durability. Millions of Ironclad
wearers swear by the performance and
protection of their Ironclad gloves.
